You will further develop your existing knowledge and practical skills in pottery and ceramics, building on what you learned at Intermediate 1 and 2 levels.
You will take greater responsibility for your work and complete projects with increased independence.
Course information
During this course you will -
- combine hand-building techniques
- create larger and more complex pieces
- design and plan sculptural works
- undertake an introduction to kiln loading and operation
- understand the differences between clay types
- learn how to use the right clay for the right purpose
- gaining knowledge of firing stages and firing clays at the correct temperatures
- use plaster press moulds
- learn studio health and safety practices
Entry requirements
- You should have completed the Pottery / Ceramics - Intermediate 2 Course or can demonstrate ceramic skills. Your level will be identified at induction
- You must be 19 or over to enrol on this course
