This qualification has been developed to enable you to improve your knowledge and understanding of dyslexia, its characteristics, diagnosis and how dyslexia impacts on learning. You will identify a range of strategies for supporting people with dyslexia.

Course information

During this course you will learn -

  • what is meant by ‘dyslexia’
  • how dyslexia is diagnosed
  • how dyslexia can affect individuals
  • ways to support the learning of individuals with dyslexia
  • sources of information for individuals with dyslexia and those supporting them

You will gain the Gateway Level 2 Award in Dyslexia Awareness qualification.

Entry requirements

  • You must be 19 or over to enrol on this course
  • GCSE Grade (D/3) and above in maths and English (or equivalent)
  • You will need access to a computer to complete your assignments online

3 hours a week over 6 weeks

Fees apply to the 2025/2026 academic year which runs from September 2025 to August 2026
