Keeping up with the Children (English)

Are you a parent or carer of a child and want to brush up your English skills to be able to help your child’s learning?

This course will help you to make the most of learning opportunities in everyday life and you will understand better how your child learns at school.

You will be more aware of how to boost your child’s learning at home using play to gain language and literacy skills.

Course information

During this course you will -

• understand how phonics is taught to children in school
• support your child to love reading and gain confidence reading aloud
• identify everyday activities that help your child’s learning at home
• gain knowledge of technical and grammatical language learnt by children in school which they use in their SATs tests
• meet other parents and carers from your child’s school and enjoy learning more about supporting children’s learning together
