In order to learn in English, you need to be able to listen to new information and understand it by taking in relevant details at speed. You will also need to be able to ask and answer questions about familiar topics and learn new vocabulary about new topics.
This important skill underpins all learning in English itself and you can support your learning in subjects like maths and digital skills by attending this course.
It is a good chance to get in some practice in speaking and listening in an inclusive group of friendly learners.
Course information
During this course you will -
- gain confidence in speaking and listening tasks to help your development in using English to learn
- learn new phrases to interrupt and add to conversations showing you agree or disagree
- listen to and understand questions and how to reply
- develop new vocabulary and improve pronunciation during themed sessions
- use linking words effectively to join your thoughts when speaking
- give further information in reply to questions and to increase your speaking length
- become more confident in communicating
Entry requirements
- You must be 19 or over to enrol on this course
- You will complete an initial assessment before you begin the course to ensure you are studying at the right level
