We provide many local Signmaking companies with their apprentices so you will get the opportunity to learn more about this sector from industry experts.

Course information

During this course you will learn a full range of skills that a qualified signmaker needs including -

  • maintaining the work environment to meet health, safety and environmental requirements
  • developing and maintaining effective working relationships in a signmaking environment
  • providing information about sign products
  • maintaining the quality of sign production
  • manufacturing sings using machinery, equipment and/or tools
  • apply or install signage products
  • preparing for sign operations and preventing damage during transportation and storage of sign products
  • quality assurance

You will work towards gaining an apprenticeship standard in signmaking. The apprenticeship standard contains a list of skills, knowledge and behaviours you will need to have learnt by the end of your apprenticeship.

Entry requirements

  • You need to be aged 16 years and over
  • GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above in maths and English (or equivalent), If you do not have these grades then please call or email to discuss
  • You do not need any prior engineering qualifications but you do need to be employed to start this course, if you are not employed then we can help look for an employer
