The apprenticeship in Property Maintenance is a recognised Standard across the construction sector.
You will spend one day a week with Hull Training and Adult Education and the rest of the time with your employer on site.
You would learn how to carry out maintenance tasks, and minor planned and responsive repair works, using a broad range of fundamental trade skills including carpentry, joinery, plumbing, plastering, brick and block work, external works and associated finishing trades including tiling, painting, and decorating.
Course information
During this course you will learn a full range of skills that a property maintenance operative needs including -
- health safety and welfare in construction
- moving and handling
- performing joinery maintenance repairs
- performing plumbing maintenance repairs
- performing tiling maintenance repairs
- preparing surfaces for decorating and applying paint by brush, roller and spray equipment
- performing masonry maintenance repairs
- performing flooring maintenance repairs
- performing plastering maintenance repairs
You will work towards gaining an apprenticeship standard in property maintenance. The apprenticeship standard contains a list of skills, knowledge and behaviours you will need to have learnt by the end of your apprenticeship.
Entry requirements
- You need to be aged 16 years and over
- GCSE Grade (D/3) and above in maths and English (or equivalent). If you do not have these grades then call or email to discuss
- You do not need any prior construction qualifications but you do need to be employed to start this course, if you are not employed then one of our level 1 courses could be a good starting point for you

24 months plus 3 months End Point Assessment (EPA)
