Do you have a recognised painting and decorating qualification, or experience working as a painter and decorator? If so, the Craft Painting and Decorating Level 3 Apprenticeship might be for you!
The Level 3 apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating is a recognised qualification across the construction sector.
You will spend one full week (block release timetabled throughout your time on your apprenticeship) with Hull Training and Adult Education and the rest of the time with your employer on site.
You would learn a more advanced and in-depth level of Painting and Decorating and hone your skills.
Course information
During this course you will learn a full range of skills that a fully qualified painter needs including -
- health safety and welfare in construction
- moving and handling
- working at heights
- calculating costs, team working principles, time management techniques
- preparing surfaces for decorating
- preparing, maintaining and using spray equipment (internal and external locations)
- applying wallcoverings to complex areas
- use of colour schemes, charts, notations, colour terms for identification in different environments
You will work towards gaining a Level 3 standard in Painting and Decorating. The apprenticeship standard contains a list of skills, knowledge and behaviours you will need to have learnt by the end of your apprenticeship.
Entry requirements
- You need to be aged 16 years and over
- GCSE Grade (C/4) and above in maths and English (or equivalent). If you do not have these grades then call or email to discuss
- Level 2 in Painting and Decorating or relevant experience on site
- You need to be employed to start this course, If you are not employed then we can help look for an employer
Course duration
18 months plus 3 months End Point Assessment (EPA)
