This qualification aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of the adult social care sector, and prepare you for progression to the Level 2 Adult Care qualifications, apprenticeships, volunteering opportunities or entry level roles within the adult social care sector.

During this 13-week course you will cover the following -

  • Introduction to the Adult Social Care Sector
  • Introduction to the Values and Principles of Adult Social Care
  • Awareness of the Skills and Attitudes Needed to Work in Adult Social Care
  • Awareness of Communication in Adult Social Care
  • Awareness of the Role and Responsibilities of the Adult Social Care Worker
  • Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Safeguarding and Duty of Care
  • Health and Safety in Adult Social Care Settings
  • Professional Behaviours and Employability Skills

Entry requirements

  • You must be 19 or over to enrol on this course
  • Entry Level 3 English or above
  • Attend an Initial Assessment
  • An interest in working with and supporting others is essential
