The Level 3 Ceramics course aims to develop advanced practical skills in pottery, alongside creative techniques in glazing and surface decoration. You will gain a deep understanding of ceramic materials and firing processes while exploring how to set up and manage a pottery studio. The course also introduces essential business skills, preparing you to create, promote, and sell your own ceramic products and establish a sustainable creative enterprise.
Course information
This course is designed for those who want to master advanced techniques and explore the art and business of ceramics. You will develop hands-on skills in wheel-throwing, hand-building, and mould-making for slip casting, while experimenting with glazing and decorative finishes to create stunning, professional-quality pieces. Alongside your creative practice, you will learn how to set up and manage your own pottery studio, understand health and safety, and gain essential business know-how - from pricing and marketing, to branding and financial planning.
By the end of the course, you will have the confidence and skills to produce, promote, and sell your own ceramic work and take the first steps towards running a successful enterprise.
Entry requirements
- You must be 19 or over to enrol on this course
- Level 1 English
- Completed Creative Craft Ceramics - Level 2 (or have relevant experience)
