This course is suitable for those working in, or looking for work in, catering, hospitality, food preparation, food service, retail food environments, schools, nurseries, childcare settings, and anyone responsible for providing allergen information to customers, children, parents, or service users.
Course information
During this course you will -
- understand the difference between food allergies and food intolerances
- identify the 14 legally recognised allergens
- recognise the symptoms and effects of allergic reactions
- understand the importance of accurate allergen communication
- learn how to prevent allergen cross-contamination during food preparation and service
- understand current food safety legislation and employer responsibilities
- develop confidence in providing safe food and snacks for children and adults with allergies
At the end of the course, you will complete a 15-question multiple choice exam paper.
