Course Aims
You will create your project with a sculptural element and learn to plan, design, and put your ideas into practice.
Entry Requirements
This course is for the experienced potter who knows how to build in clay and wants to develop their creativity. It is not suitable for anyone new to pottery. You will be working independently with assistance from the tutor when needed.

Course Content
During this 12-week course, you will create a functional piece with a sculptural element, as well as a sculptural piece.
You are going to use all the hand-building techniques and look at researching, designing, and planning your project.
You will hand-build, underglaze, and glaze your work; as well as look at other surface decoration.
Assessment Method
This is a RARPA based course, assessment is carried out though building of a portfolio and taking part within tasks matched to the individual’s personal targets.
RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five-stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.
